Most Wanted TTP Terrorist Noor Alam Alias Wafadar Arrested in Karachi

Executive Summary
Pakistani security forces have arrested a most-wanted Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist identified as Noor Alam alias Wafadar in Karachi. The joint operation by Rangers and the Counter-Terrorism Department recovered weapons and explosive materials from the suspect, who was wanted for multiple attacks on security forces in South Waziristan.
Pakistani security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in Karachi’s SITE area, resulting in the arrest of Noor Alam, also known as Wafadar. The suspect was a key member of the banned TTP faction led by Mufti Noor Wali and had been on the most-wanted list for several years.
According to official sources, Wafadar joined the TTP in 2014 and was involved in several high-profile attacks in South Waziristan, including IED explosions and an assault on a Levies check post in Makeen in 2021. He had previously fled to Afghanistan and later returned to Karachi to reorganize a militant network under a commander known as Bilal alias Toofan.
During the raid, security forces recovered weapons and explosive materials. The arrested individual has been handed over to the Counter-Terrorism Department for further interrogation, and additional raids are underway to apprehend his accomplices.
This arrest is part of ongoing efforts by Pakistani authorities to dismantle TTP networks operating in urban centers like Karachi, which have historically served as hubs for fundraising, recruitment, and logistical support for the group.
